Sonic Summary

We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join our Children's Services team, focusing on supporting families with children and young people up to 18 years old.
The role involves providing direct support, improving parenting skills, and ensuring positive outcomes through evidence-based methods.
Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 or 4 in working with children or young people and experience in challenging family situations.
A full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential, as well as an enhanced DBS check.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our Children's Services team. You will work intensively with families to support children and young people up to 18 years old. Using evidence-based methods and a strength-based approach, you will help improve family wellbeing, promote safeguarding, and ensure positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to families, helping improve parenting skills and school attendance.
Act as a key worker, collaborating with social workers and other agencies.
Offer practical and emotional support to families facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or disability.
Attend meetings (including Child Protection Conferences) and contribute reports.
Complete accurate records and deliver evidence-based parenting programs.
Must have the ability to drive and transport children/families as needed.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

NVQ Level 3 or 4 in working with children or young people (or working towards).
Experience in working with children and families in difficult situations.
Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and early help services.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Enhanced DBS required.
