This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.
Day to day of the role
- Delivering the Specialist Support Model of Inclusive Practice and implementing the SEND Code of Practice.
- Planning and reviewing individual programmes of support, ensuring all aspects of provisions and support specified within a learner’s Initial Needs Assessment and/or Education Health Care Plan is in place and meets the colleges statutory requirements.
- Assessing the progress of learners and ensuring this is effectively tracked and monitored.
- Closely liaising with the Campus Co-ordinators, Heads of Department and the SEND Compliance team ensuring a seamless process of Initial Needs Assessment/EHCP application. This includes producing the necessary documentation that meets all audit and funding stream requirements.
- Carrying out high-quality Initial Needs Assessments, along with other appropriate assessments, to establish support needs and effectively tracking this progress leading to successful outcomes.
Required skills and qualifications
- Autism Specialism (e.g., Foundation Degree or other specialist degree level qualification).
- Relevant successful experience of delivering specialist programmes co-created with learners with Autism.
- Experience of dealing with effectively with complex situations and crisis management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism and how these may affect the way learners learn, implementing the autism dual curriculum.
