A Primary School in the Weston-Super-Mare area is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant who can work with multiple staff members to support children with ASD needs within a spacialised classroom.

This Primary School is a 3 form entry school who is part of a large trust that supports each other School to School. The staff members are super helpful and always look after eachother. With this in mind, they put the learning of the children at the forefront of everything they do, working closely with family members to support their journey in school and at home.

The Role

This Role is a full-time position starting after half term where you will be working with the school SENCO, class teachers and other staff members to adapt environments and activities to support children with ASD needs to access their learning at their own pace.

The Head Teacher is ideally looking for someone who has experience with SEN or who has knowledge of how to be adaptable to meet different needs. Someone who can use their initiative to adapt activities and work collaboratively with other staff members to meet the needs of each pupil in the class.

You will be expected to:

  • Have previous experience or knowledge of SEN needs.

  • Bring a calm, engaging and positive environment.

  • Be open to working with a mixture of needs.

  • Be open to communicating with other TAs, SENCO and Class Teachers
