A school in the BS23 area of Weston-Super-Mare is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who can work within an SEN hub at a Mainstream School.
You will be joining an experienced and dynamic team of teachers and teaching assistants. This 2 form entry school is a wonderful place that has a curriculum that has been developed to support pupils’ curiosity and prepare them academically and personally for life.
The Role
As a successful candidate, you will be expected to work on a part-time basis, mornings only; 8:30 to 12:15, Monday to Friday.
As you will be working closely with children with ASD needs, the Head Teacher is looking for someone who has experience working with SEND children, someone who can demonstrate patients and has caring and nurturing characteristics.
You will be expected to:

Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities.

Communicate well with the school SENDCo to gain a better understanding of the child’s needs.

Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.

Create a stimulating and purposeful environment.

Manage and Support with the child’s needs.

Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
