Location: Bideford
Salary: £28,000 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join a small residential home supporting adults with learning disabilities. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring that the residents receive high-quality care and support in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. You will lead a team of support staff and provide them with guidance, training, and supervision, ensuring that care standards are met, and that each resident is supported to live as independently as possible while achieving their personal goals.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in a residential setting, supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ideally proven leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and develop a team.
  • Understanding of person-centered care principles and commitment to promoting independence and well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and best practices in supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and support residents with complex needs.
  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with vulnerable adults.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and reliable in meeting the needs of the service.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Health and Social Care, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
