Accounts and Audit Senior - Wetherby
Barber Mclelland are working as a recruitment partner for a leading Chartered Accountancy Practice based within an easy commute of North Leeds, Harrogate, Wetherby or York. The firm is looking to employ an ambitious qualified practice accountant for the position of Accounts and Audit Senior.

Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the Corporate Service Partner, the role of Audit and Accounts Senior will be responsible for the delivery of accounting and audit services for a highly varied portfolio of clients, duties will include:
- Carrying out audits of companies, charities, academies and LLPs from budgets/planning through to finalisation
- Preparation of statutory accounts from trial balance
- Supervision and development of trainees
- Preparation of corporate/business tax computations
- Attendance at client’s premises
- Client liaison including dealing with queries and resolving issues on site
- Management of smaller jobs reporting straight to partner
- Carrying out internal audit work in not-for-profit organisations
Skills and Qualities
The Successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years experience working for an Accountancy Practice and will be a qualified ACCA or ACA, applications will also be encouraged from individuals who are at the final stages of their professional studies.
Additional requirements include:
- Some experience of charity/academy audits is desirable but not essential
- Experience of audit supervision and planning, including completion of files for manager or partner review
- Good IT skills, including experience of using different audit packages or systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels
- Accurate, methodical and organised
Salary Package
