Assistant Accountant - North Yorkshire (Hybrid working with 2 days on site - free parking) - £31,000 - 39,000 plus study support and generous pensionAre you a finance professional with strong technical skills who can translate financial concepts into clear, actionable insights? This organisation who are much loved across the UK are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the team, supporting the provision of comprehensive financial services for a prestigious national organisation with cultural significance.YOUR IMPACT AS ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
  • Support the production of Annual Report and Accounts, ensuring consistent figures are provided for consolidated reporting
  • Contribute to maintaining the integrity of accounting records and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with treasury management services 
  • Support VAT and Corporation Tax compliance, including preparing the annual VAT reclaim percentage
  • Help maintain performance dashboards and provide financial analysis to governance groups and business areas
  • Participate in financial process improvement reviews to create efficiencies through automation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • CCAB (ACCA / ACA / CIMA / CIPFA ) part-qualified with commitment to completing professional examinations (qualified candidates also welcome)
  • Strong financial and mathematical acumen
  • Excellent IT skills including knowledge of ERP finance systems and Excel
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE (PLEASE STILL APPLY IF YOU DON'T TICK ALL BOXES...BUT THIS WILL HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY OR ALL OF THESE)
  • Public Sector and/or Charity accounting experience
  • Treasury management knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft's Power BI
