Analytical Scientist (Chemistry / R&D)Weatherby£32,000 - £36,000 DOE + excellent training + flexitime + healthcare + excellent pension + 26.5 days holidayAre you a Chemist with experience working in a laboratory environment looking for industry leading training with internal and external training courses, working on a project basis to understanding client problems and providing and developing solutions?Do you want to broaden your technical experience and work on exciting projects with an industry leading business with a huge range of career options at home and abroad?On offer is a role within a global scientific business that will provide excellent training to work with new product development and who are investing over £750,000 in new laboratory facilitiesYou will have both LC and GC experience and a desire to work with a dynamic environment on NPD as well as QA on exiting products.The Role:

  • Deliver completed lab requests within the agreed timescales.
  • Conducting analysis on raw materials, in-process samples (routine & non-routine) and final products
  • Testing samples using a range of techniques including GC, HPLC, Combustion Ion
  • Chromatography, Karl Fischer, FTIR and UV-Vis
  • Undertaking method development and method validation to support the R+D team
  • Experience of maintaining and tuning single quad GC and LC MS
  • Experience in the use of traditional 'wet' chemical and physical testing techniques, e.g., aqueous and non-aqueous titrations and viscosity measurements

The Person:

  • Hold a Chemistry or related degree
  • Experience of either HPLC-MS and GC-MS
  • Demonstrable Chemistry industry experience
