About the Job:

As a Woodworking Machine Operator / Factory Machinist, you'll be an integral part of a fast-paced production team. We're looking for individuals with a can-do attitude, keen attention to detail, and the ability to operate a range of woodworking machinery safely. In the role you will:

  • Conduct regular machine safety checks at the start of each shift and report any concerns
  • Operate machinery in accordance with safety procedures
  • Check product requirements and materials for each production run
  • Set up and program machinery for each run based on procedures and experience
  • Continuously observe machine operation and conduct checks as necessary during each run
  • Working within a factory environment with potential dust and higher noise levels
  • Physically demanding nature of the job, including heavy lifting on a regular basis

Working hours:

Flexible Hours, Balanced Life: Guaranteed 39-hour workweek

Paid for 39 hours, no matter what

Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish:

?? Monday to Thursday; 1:30pm - 11:00pm

?? Friday; 1:00pm - 8:00pm

Summer Perk: in order for you to enjoy the (rare) sunshine, we give the option for you to work longer days for 4 days, and get an extra day off!

About You:

  • Ability to read and understand product drawings or create plots for panel production
  • Previous experience or ability to use Work in Progress system
  • Proficiency in operating relevant machinery, including software for PC controlled machinery or programming CNC machines
  • Understanding of machine operation for basic fault finding and correction
  • Awareness of tolerances required for each product
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, manual handling, and regulations for machinery operation
  • Basic understanding of quality standards for different products
