Stock Controller

Swift Placements are working with a leading drinks distributor based in Wetherby Leeds, who are known for its extensive portfolio and commitment to customer service. Our client is looking to recruit for a Stock Control Assistant to join their team on a Temp to Perm basis which is due to start on the 6th of January 2025. This is a fast-paced work environment with opportunities for growth and progression available.

The successful candidate will manage and maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring the smooth operation of inventory processes. The role is critical in supporting the warehouse and supply chain teams to meet business and customer demands efficiently. The ideal candidate will have proven track record of achieving in a planning role, supply or demand planning would be ideal.

Monday to Friday

Temp to perm role

Rate of pay: 13.00 per hour based on 40 hours a week.

Location: Wetherby, Leeds

Please note: This is a full time office based role.

Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management:

• Accurately monitor and update stock levels in the inventory system.
• Raise and manage purchase orders to warehouse following established processes.
• Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
• Identify and address stock discrepancies promptly.
• Work closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and the supply chain team to ensure efficient stock flow.
• Communicate stock-related issues or updates to relevant departments.
• Manage uplifts returns to suppliers

Replenishment:

• Ensure timely restocking of inventory.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to organise incoming deliveries and outgoing orders.
• Assist in ordering and restocking products as needed.

Quality Control:

• Inspect stock for damages or discrepancies and report issues.
• Ensure products are stored in compliance with company standards.

Documentation:

• Record stock movements in inventory systems accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of stock adjustments and issues.
• Pro-actively communicate any items at risk of impacting customer service

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Previous experience in a stock control or inventory management role.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and processes.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Proactive in identifying and solving problems.
• Strong communication skills to interact with different teams.
• A working knowledge of the Supply Chain process
