The Wilf Ward Family Trust has a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker in our friendly, motivated team at one of our registered services, Errol House in Boston Spa. Errol House is a complex care service, and we support people with profound learning disabilities and complex physical health needs.

This isn’t just a job; this is making a difference in people’s lives every day.

At Errol House we have 5 individuals living with us - 2 young ladies and 3 lovely gentlemen, who all need support due to their varying conditions (cerebral palsy, autism and learning disabilities). None of these however limit their outlook on life. Everyone has an amazing and mischievous sense of humour and love nothing more than joking around. You can expect your working day at Errol House to be fun, full of activities and endless laughs!

All the individuals living here are non-verbal and require 1:1 support with aspects of 2:1 support when they access the community. We have two fulltime wheelchair users and the other three individuals use their wheelchairs when out on community activities. Therefore the use of hoists and manual handling will occur throughout the service, full training will be provided.

Working as a Support Worker means no two days are the same. This role encompasses a range of tasks dependent on the individual's needs, including:

  • Personal care.

  • Meal preparation.

  • Monitoring, recording, and administering medication.

  • Assistance with mobility.

  • Accompanying individuals to a range of activities including, swimming, horse-riding, going to sensory rooms, going on walks and wheelchair ice skating sessions.
