We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join one of our welcoming schools in Wetherby. This is a fantastic opportunity to support both the class teacher and students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in managing the full classroom, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and reach their potential.
  • Assist in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with core subjects (English, Maths, etc.).
  • Build strong, nurturing relationships with students to foster a supportive and caring environment.
  • Set and maintain appropriate boundaries to ensure pupils' wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement learning strategies and interventions.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND (ideally in a classroom setting).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' individual needs.
  • Ability to set clear, consistent boundaries to support positive behaviour.
  • A passion for helping students succeed and an understanding of different learning styles.
  • A DBS check will be required for this role.
