We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant in the Wetherby area for a full-time role from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a daily rate of £90 - £110. Immediate start for full-time positions is available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex learning and physical needs.
- Assist with personal care needs, ensuring students' comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver individualised learning plans and adapt activities to suit each student's abilities.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement, using patience and understanding to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Support students during transition times, mealtimes, and breaks to ensure continuity and well-being.
- Help prepare and organise specialised resources, adapting materials to meet sensory and developmental needs.
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with the teaching team and parents to provide updates and feedback.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEND or complex needs in a school or care setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of personal care support, with a compassionate approach to assisting students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes.
- A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students with complex needs.
- DBS check required (or willingness to complete one).
