An excellent opportunity has become available for a fluent German speaking Accountant to join a market leading business as they continue to grow. This is a full time (38.75 hours per week) position with 2 days working from home.

Accountant - About The Role

You will be involved with the following responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable accounting
  • Checking and posting supplier invoices
  • Reconciliation, clarification and settlement of clearing accounts
  • Monitoring, posting and passing on ancillary operating costs (ancillary cost management)
  • Managing asset accounting
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Supporting company audits
  • Assisting in evaluations for planning and control purposes
  • Preparing the advance VAT return and declaration
  • Preparing the provision for demolition costs in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) or IFRS
  • Processing electronic payment transactions
  • Clarifying business transactions and other tasks (including assisting in tax investigations, master data maintenance, passing on ERG)

The successful Accountant will have/be:

  • Fluent in speaking German
  • Want to join a market leading organisation who are experiencing continued growth
  • A proven track record within a similar role
  • Practical knowledge of accounting standards
  • Completed commercial degree and training with several years of professional experience
  • Independent, structured and conscientious way of working
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of numbers
  • High resilience, service orientation and ability to work in a team
  • Confident use of IT and ERP systems (Enterprise One) and very good MS Office knowledge
