Senior Accountant - Weybridge / Hybrid Role
Are you an experienced accountant looking for a dynamic role within a growing accountancy practice? Our client, a well-established firm with a strong presence in London, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across multiple industries while being part of a supportive and professional environment.
About the Firm:* A boutique accountancy practice with a headcount of 8, and exciting growth plans* Part of a larger group, which includes an accountancy business and a mortgage brokerage.* The accountancy team has just relocated to offices in Weybridge with plans for the brokerage to join them in the future.
The Senior Accountant Role:* Although the preference is for the team to be in the office, they can offer flexibility and hybrid working (1-2 days from home).* Salary: £40k-£50k depending on experience.* Working with a varied portfolio of clients across property, solicitors, charities, and construction.* Handling clients with turnovers between £1M and £10M.* Financial reporting under FRS 102.* Working with Xero (cloud-based) and some clients on QuickBooks.* Supporting and mentoring ACCA students as part of a training-focused firm.
Key Responsibilities:* Preparing statutory accounts and working closely with the Accounts Manager and Partners.* Preparing quarterly management accounts and handling ad hoc project work for larger businesses.* Reviewing and filing quarterly VAT returns (bookkeeping handled by other team members).* Liaising closely with the Tax team, particularly around corporate tax returns.* Assisting clients with their growth plans.* Supporting the sales team with onboarding new clients.
Ideal Senior Accountant Candidate:* ACCA/ACA qualified with strong experience in general practice.* Experienced in preparing year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.* Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients within a practice environment.* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP; IFRS experience is a bonus.* A proactive problem solver with strong client-facing skills.* Location is key - must be able to commute to Weybridge easily.
