Contracts Advisor My client is seeking to recruit a Contracts Advisor to support the Sales and Business Development teams in the drafting and finalization of agreements with our clients and with their government partners in Asia, Europe and Africa.As part of a small Eastern Hemisphere Contracts team, you will take responsibility for drafting sales agreements and ensuring consistency where possible. You will collaborate with the Sales and Business Development teams in many locations and ensure agreements are concluded in a timely fashion.You will champion a new contracts management system and will ensure it is used across the region.We are looking for an organized self-starter with an eye for detail, who is able to convince others to follow a given process.An understanding of the seismic industry and seismic data is valuable but not essential.  Similarly, a professional track record of drafting agreements is valuable but not essential. The perfect candidate could have a seismic background and an interest in contracts and commerce or someone with legal training interested in a career in the vibrant energy sector. Purpose and Scope
  • Manage the process of client agreement supplement creation for MC Sales across the Eastern Hemisphere.
  • Manage the process of Master License Agreement (MLA) creation and negotiation for the Eastern Hemisphere and collaborate on consistency with responsible staff in the Western Hemisphere
  • Create draft agreements and support sales team in reviewing proposals, generating supplements, MLA's, contracts and other supporting documentation.  
  • Responsible for overseeing the contract document management system and ensuring a successful workflow. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate licensing supplements and MLA’s and review drafts created by others for Account Managers in the Eastern Hemisphere Sales team.
  • Lead the process for renewal of MLA’s in a timely fashion in support of the relevant Account Managers
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders during document generation process including Finance, GIS, Legal, Data Management etc. 
  • Review proposals, MLA's, supplements, etc. for accuracy, completeness, consistency, viability, and legibility
  • Support development of the contract document management system to ensure access and usability for the Sales team. Work with legal to ensure completeness.
  • Manage the contract document management system: Maintaining contract pricing, coordinating globally when changes are needed, working with VAR on fixes and/or testing, and overall managing the contract life cycle. 
  • Coordinate and deliver contract management system and data delivery training to Accounting, Sales, and Support departments.  
  • Manage digital signature process workflow using DocuSign. 
Key Competencies
  • Technical skills – Ability to accurately reflect TGS business imperatives in a legal agreement. Continual focus on process and systems improvement to support efficiency gains; proficiency in MS excel, JIRA, PowerBI and SalesForce software are all valuable
  • Project management skills – Understands the various project management methodologies used in TGS’ acquisition and delivery of data to a client
  • Change management – can drive change implementation and provide the requisite support to teams through any change processes
  • Stakeholder management - Work closely with users, developers, business owners of contract document management system and all business stakeholders to ensure system is fit for purpose and user friendly.
  • Sales process theory - Knowledge of sales process from opportunity identification to data delivery. 
  • Communication - Communicates ideas in a clear and concise manner. Effectively uses different methods of communication (phone, email, messaging, whiteboard, in-person). 
  • Teamwork - Works well with others towards a shared goal, participates actively, shares responsibility and rewards, and contributes to the overall capability of the team 
  • Attention to Detail - Reviews quality of own work and completes work that is generally error free. Sees jobs through to completion and regularly completes work on time and in a satisfactory manner.   A role model to others for attention to detail and efficient working.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving Skills - Able to interpret the situation at hand, uses prior experience and knowledge of contracts to propose course of action and deliver results that furthers the objectives, priorities and vision of the organization.

  • Development of a user focused contract management system (with Legal).
  • Standardization and roll out of Supplement templates for Eastern Hemisphere Sales
  • Sales team adoption of sales processes and contract templates
  • Successful training of commercial staff on agreement drafting and contract management
  • Timely Generation & Execution of Sales & Supporting  Documents 
  • Accuracy of Sales & Supporting Documents
