Our client, a global blue-chip IT company, is looking for a Cloud Engineer.
[Purpose of the Job]
As part of the Cloud Business Development Group of the company, the main responsibility of the role is to take ownership of the Public Cloud infrastructure to design and build robust Public Cloud environments from the ground up. This position offers the opportunity to shape the infrastructure’s direction and development while leveraging tools like Azure, AWS and K8s for in-depth assessments and migrations. The role requires a proactive and passionate individual to help define and guide the project’s scope over the coming years.
[Key Accountabilities]
(1) Develop and maintain Public Cloud environments, moving beyond routine tasks to take ownership of complex implementations.
(2) Lead infrastructure projects from inception, including assessing, categorizing, and migrating on-premises systems to cloud solutions.
(3) Perform detailed technical assessments and develop strategic migration plans leveraging various Public Cloud platforms.
(4) Build and standardize Cloud-based infrastructure across DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), creating repeatable patterns and frameworks.
(5) Design architecture and implement IaC using Bicep/Terraform, contributing to technical discussions and decision-making processes.
(6) Take ownership of the DevSecOps environment, ensuring effective use of CI/CD pipelines, observability, automation, and security throughout the development & deployment lifecycle.
[Requirements]
(1) Must have minimum 3 years of Public Cloud experience.
(2) Extensive experience with enterprise-level technical assessments and cloud migrations, particularly to Azure and AWS.
(3) Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform/Bicep, along with scripting skills in PowerShell to design scalable and fault tolerant infrastructure.
(4) Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across IT domains and with subject matter experts.
(5) Good understanding of DevOps culture, Platform as a Service (PaaS) and serverless architectures
(6) Experience of building CI/CD pipelines
(7) Relevant certifications, such as Azure Administrator and Azure Security Technologies, Azure Solutions Architect Expert (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-500, AZ-305).
(8) Experience in IIS, .NET, ASP, PHP, MS-SQL, Windows OS beneficial
(9) Experience in Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, LINUX beneficial
(10) Experience in Docker, container orchestration (K8s) beneficial
(11) Must hold a full driving license and have own car for possible emergency call outs
[Conditions]
(1) Job type: full-time & 12 month contract(subject to be extended)
(2) Job location: Weybridge, Surrey (on-site car park & free shuttle from/to Weybridge rail station)
(3) Hybrid working: 2 days work from home
(4) Hours of work: 37.5 hour per week (some overtime work may be required for emergencies and projects)
(5) Annual basic salary: up to 45K (depending on experience)
