We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician to join an established facilities team at a reputable school. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks across the sites to ensure the facilities are functional and safe. The successful candidate will have some experience within a maintenance, hands on role and will looking to progress their career.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, basic carpentry, and general repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues such as leaks, equipment malfunctions, and structural damage.
- Assist in setting up for events and functions, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as patch plastering, painting and decorating.
- Use Facilities Management Software to manage and close out maintenance requests.
- Support the smooth operation of school functions and open mornings, with some overtime required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and working at height.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English to ensure clear understanding of safety and operational instructions.
- Confidence in using IT software, including Microsoft Office 365.
- Valid Driving Licence is essential; Category D1 is desirable.
- Experience in an educational environment is advantageous.

Shift Pattern:
- Alternating shift patterns during school term and regular shifts during school holidays
- 40 hours per week - Earliest start time is 7:30am and latest finish is 7:30pm
