About the Role:

As the Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. You will work closely with HR and Finance teams to maintain compliance with payroll regulations and provide exceptional service to staff regarding payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for both salaried and hourly-paid employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Managing variable pay elements such as overtime, holiday pay, commissions, and bonuses.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions (auto-enrolment), and statutory payments.
  • Processing new starters, leavers, and contract changes, ensuring all records are up to date.
  • Handling queries from employees regarding payslips, tax codes, and deductions.
  • Coordinating with external payroll providers (if applicable) and ensuring smooth payroll operations.
  • Managing RTI (Real Time Information) submissions to HMRC and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Supporting year-end payroll processes, including P60s, P11Ds, and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with payroll audits and providing reports to senior management as required.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and data security in line with GDPR and internal policies.

About You:

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (experience with systems such as Sage, ADP, or similar would be beneficial).
  • Excellent numerical skills and the ability to work with complex payroll calculations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work independently.
