Quality Engineer, Weymouth, £40,000

Purpose

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all products meet customer drawings and specifications. You will utilise a range of measurement tools and techniques to conduct inspections, complete first article reports (FAIRs), and support quality assurance systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-performance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing First Off, In-Process, Goods Inwards, and Final Inspection to customer drawings and specifications
  • Preparing and completing FAIRs to AS9102 standards
  • Supporting compliance with AS9100 and other relevant regulations and processes
  • Conducting roving inspections and participating in Red Table/RCCA activities
  • Handling the release of vital/flight safety parts
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S principles
  • Reporting inspection findings to senior management as required

As a Quality Engineer, your skills and experience will include:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and understanding GD&T
  • Experience with FAIR creation/completion to AS9102 standards
  • An indentured apprenticeship or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with the inspection of complex aerospace parts is advantageous
  • Knowledge of using/programming CMMs, Faro Arms, and other relevant equipment is beneficial, with Modus CMM programming language experience preferred
  • A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
