My client provides engineering design, delivery and support solutions to clients across various sectors, such as deployable containerised systems to clients’ performance and capability requirements. They are seeking a Project Engineer to assist with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and managing of technical activities to ensure project technical compliance and quality.Project EngineerThe Project Engineer will support the project mobilisation, producing and maintaining the project Trials, Verification and Validation Plan, a well as assisting with supplier approval audits and onboarding.You will:
  • Provide engineering expertise and advice to the project team.
  • Produce and maintain project plans and technical documentation.
  • Provide an interface between Project, Engineering Disciplines and suppliers on technical issues, snags and non-conformances.
  • Review engineering tasks and initiate necessary corrective actions.
  • Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, testing and acceptance to the Trials, Verification and Validation Plan.
  • Participate and contribute to Design Review meetings, ensuring compliance with project technical requirements specification.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers, monitoring the quality of project deliverables ensuring compliance with any relevant industry standard or project specific quality requirements.
  • Conduct Investigation of Product / service non-conforming products or services, providing detailed reports, evidence of findings and maintaining records.
  • Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, representing them in the field.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, other project participants and senior engineers to create more efficient project methods.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly reporting material is provided and maintained.
  • Engender and maintain a mission zero safety culture throughout the programme delivery team and supply chain.
This role will require significant UK and overseas travel, mostly in Europe, to complete supplier inspections and audits and carry out equipment acceptance inspections. To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level in a related discipline, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, with an active certification in a professional engineering organisation.You will need significant experience of working in an engineering environment, specifically in a Project Engineering role with an understanding of engineering principles and procedures.You will have knowledge of Systems Engineering as well as applicable codes, policies, standards and best practices.  You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads, with strong verbal and written communication, able to produce reports (technical and non-technical) and give presentations.Project EngineerWeymouth area, DorsetSalary circa £50-55k based on experience.Hybrid working – significant flexibility offeredKey Skills: Project Engineer, Project Engineering, Installation, Test, Verification, Validation, Project Plans, Project Planning, Documentation, Design Review, Systems Engineering, Codes, Standards, Policies, Defence, Military.Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens.
