IT Systems Administrator & Helpdesk Coordinator

Location: Weymouth
Salary: 35 - 40k + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday - Early Finish Friday 2pm

In this role, you'll support the shift towards software support and cloud-based infrastructure, contributing to the evolving needs of the business. As the IT Systems Administrator & Helpdesk Coordinator, you'll be central to maintaining the smooth running of our IT operations while collaborating closely with external providers and ensuring compliance with increasingly structured IT processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Problem Solving: Take ownership of resolving IT issues and anticipating problems before they arise, providing strategic solutions that keep systems running smoothly.

  • Cloud-Based Infrastructure: Manage and support cloud technologies (Azure, Office 365) and virtual environments, contributing to the transition from hardware/networking towards software and cloud-based operations.

  • Service & Infrastructure Management: Oversee the performance of networks, switches, Wi-Fi, email, telephony, video conferencing, SAN storage, backups, and more, ensuring they remain secure and operational.

  • Compliance & Structured Processes: Adapt to and manage growing compliance and management processes as part of integration with a wider IT function, ensuring all systems comply with company standards.

  • Technology Updates & Security: Keep systems and software up to date, managing firewalls, antivirus systems, and security protocols to ensure secure and reliable operations.

  • Collaboration & Project Involvement: Work with external IT providers and contribute to local and global IT projects, including software upgrades and system integration's.

What We're Looking For:

You should have proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or Engineer, with skills in:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and Office 365.

  • Software Support: Ability to support software systems and applications, with an interest in shifting away from traditional hardware/networking to more software-focused environments.

  • Security & Compliance: Experience managing IT security, including firewalls, anti virus systems, and data compliance.

  • Technical Systems: Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and VMware.

  • Project Coordination: Experience in managing or supporting IT projects, particularly those focused on cloud adoption, software upgrades, or infrastructure changes.

  • ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV) within manufacturing or other technical environments would be advantageous.
