RSR are currently recruiting for experienced Police Staff Investigators to work with a UK-based Police Force on a long-term, full-time contract in either Bournemouth, Weymouth or Winfrith.

The role is paying 15.09p per hour (PAYE) and applicants will be subject to national security police checks.

Job profile:
To provide active professional support within the Criminal Investigation Department for the investigation of crime, covering all aspects of the investigative process that do not require formal Police powers.

Main Responsibilities:
To plan, prepare and conduct interviews with detainees, victims and witnesses according to the Law and Practical Guide to Investigative Interviewing.
To take statements as required in accordance with legislation and procedure.
To determine the appropriate course of action in a case and to undertake that action in a thorough and expeditious manner.
Completing relevant documentation in paper and digital format to support the case.
To conduct all necessary investigative work required to bring about a prosecution, except those parts which form core Police Officer powers or powers not designated by the Chief Constable.
Search property, vehicles, premises and land in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, procedures and techniques in support of an investigation.
Ensure all evidence, including exhibits, are obtained, examined, and stored in accordance with policy.
To present case files to the Crown Prosecution Service, attend Case Conferences with Crown Prosecutors and Prosecution Counsel in line with Force and National Policy.
To attend court, give evidence or deal with cases at both Magistrate and Crown/Appeal Courts.

Essential Experience:
Demonstrates the ability to make and review decisions after gathering all available information, assessing risks and considering a range of options.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with potentially difficult and volatile situations in a professional, calm and innovative way.
Demonstrate the ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and unsupervised.
