Rate:£65 Ph PAYE (£74.45 ph including holiday pay) or £85.77 ph Umbrella
Duration: 12 Months
The Safety Requirements Engineer will ensure Safety Requirements Management activities are conducted against Dreadnought CS WB identified 3SFRs and GSTRs and also Local Hazards to Individuals (LHI) Safety Requirements. Safety Requirements applicable to Dreadnought Combat System (CS) will be managed via a combination of IBMâ„¢ Rational DOORS Requirement Tool instances, at both the Whole Boat Technical Authority (TA)/Approving Authority (AA) Dreadnought Alliance Levels, using FSM DOORS and the Dreadnought CS Level via CS DOORS. Ensure established and maintained Requirements Baselines.
The majority of the following credentials apply:
• Acts as Requirements Manager for a large System
• Provides technical leadership and guidance on matters relating to Requirements Management,
• Works as part of a small team
Core Duties
• Analyse/Establish Safety Requirements (from outputs of CS Safety Analysis ) in accordance with Safety Management Plan
• Review decomposed WB Level 3 Safety Functional Requirements (3SFRs)
• Review Derived Safety Requirements (DSRs)
• Review General Safety Technical Requirements (GSTRs)
• Review LHI Safety Requirements from LHI Hazard Analyses
• Input all requirements formally into DOORs
• Conduct review, assessment & linkage of ship /sub spec requirements (SSRs) General Technical requirements (GTRs) & CS Non Functional requirements to Safety Requirements
• Ensure each requirement has a measures of Performance and Acceptance criteria, type & events
• Ensure TA authorisation & ESO Endorsement of CS Safety Requirements
• Ensure Flow down Safety Requirements to sub system Teams and Suppliers (As appropriate)
• Collaborate with Safety SMEs, allocate Safety evidence, allocate Safety Evidence & ensure Safety Requirements Substantiation. Update DOORs. All Dreadnought CS Safety Requirements are to be managed in accordance with the Dreadnought CS Requirements Management Plan and Dreadnought CS Acceptance Management Plan.
• Manage CS Safety Requirements & shortfalls (CS DOORS + Alignment to other DOORS Modules).
• Coordinate a shortfall management meeting to decide next steps for evidence shortfall. Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
• A highly experienced professional Systems Engineer, has a depth and breadth of knowledge in Requirements Management
• Requires a depth and breadth of SME Requirements Management knowledge gained through substantial work experience in order to effectively manage Safety Requirements from Top Level to Supplier Level and their substantiation (evidence review)
• Understands DOORS functionality and can provide specialist Requirements Management advice and guidance to the Safety Team and wider Systems Engineering Team.
