Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Nottingham

Salary: 68,000 - 70,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

We are currently looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading housing partnership based in the Midlands Region, working on Mixed Tenure and/or Contracting schemes. You will be working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor on a plot of 300 units including open market, affordable housing and PRS clients (project value is roughly 70million).

Job roles and responsibilities of Senior Quantity Surveyor -

  • Responsible for the financial cost control and reporting of one or more developments from the Award up to and including completion of client and sub-contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material
  • Ensure effective cash management and careful administration of subcontractor accounts
  • At all times being aware of the need to cultivate longstanding relationships and promote dispute avoidance
  • Must be able to swiftly identify any commercial threats to projects, ensuring this is fully communicated to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Director
  • You will supervise and train Assistant and Trainee Surveyors, setting targets and allocating duties whilst maintaining quality

Candidate requirements -

  • Educated to a minimum of degree level in quantity surveying,
  • Must have substantial relevant experience gained from within the construction industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, you will have significant knowledge of measurement and valuation in addition to final accounts and sub-contract orders and buying
  • Strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management
  • Be adept in preparing and understanding financial reports and will be comfortable utilising COINS
