Jonathan Lee Recruitment is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for an Instrument Cluster Principal Engineer to join a prestigious Centre of Excellence for design and development located in Cranfield. This role offers a competitive rate of £29.00/hr PAYE, within a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future of vehicles manufactured in European plants.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the development of Instrument Cluster, Head-Up Displays and Displays ensuring adherence to Design and Test standards.
  • Manage suppliers closely to guarantee the delivery of parts aligns with program requirements for cost, quality, and timing.
  • Issue and maintain physical part BOM and configuration data for manufacturing plant.
  • Prepare functional specifications and present part development status at internal Design Reviews.
  • Manage in-house and supplier validation of parts, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Contribute to vehicle life cycle cost reduction and lead warranty investigations and implementations.

What You Will Bring:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent with a strong understanding of basic electrical theory.
  • Extensive experience in similar roles within the automotive or equivalent sectors.
  • Exposure to CAN communication and familiarity with software development V cycle.
  • Proficiency in HMI specification creation and a well-organised, excellent communicator.
  • Ability to travel in the UK and abroad, sometimes at short notice.
