Infotainment and HMI Test Engineer (923)
• Location: Cranfield

• Pay: £29.00 per hour
We are recruiting for an Infotainment and HMI Test Engineer to work for a globally recognised automotive company based in Cranfield. This is a long-term contract role with the possibility of lasting several years.

Key Responsibilities:
• Validate the vehicle function, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance of infotainment, display, and parking systems to meet client and regulatory standards.
• Create and manage test methods and procedures.
• Oversee test planning, including variance impact analysis and resource management.
• Analyse results, provide judgments, and generate reports for cross-functional teams and upper management.
• Conduct concern investigation, perform root cause analysis, and recommend countermeasures to design, aftermarket, and manufacturing departments.
• Support field investigations as required and assist suppliers.
• Prepare test/investigation reports, test plans, and methods.
• Ensure the quality of electrical systems aligns with client standards.
• Complete validation tasks within project milestones.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and electrical theory.
• Experience with software application in vehicle ECUs (flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration).
• Ability to assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
• Understanding of network communications and multiple bus systems, such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with CANalyzer and CANape software or similar tools and interpreting their results.
• Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
• Practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with digital oscilloscopes and basic electrical test equipment.
• Relevant experience in automotive electrical/electronic system development, having completed at least two vehicle developments or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel abroad for short periods, sometimes at short notice.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and Project.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility.

Hours & Pay:
• Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
• £29.00 per hour.
