My client is a very well-established business who specialize in the fabrication, coating, and assembly ofspecialist products for a variety of high-tech industries.
They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to lead problem solving within all manufacturing areas to improve yields & reduce poor quality
Main Duties
- Manage both internal and external quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers.
- Manage and lead daily reject reviews to help drive problem containment and correction.
- Follow the Advanced Product Quality Planning framework to help coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products
- Training of team members in inspection techniques and methods and evaluating results
- Assess and manage risks using the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) framework
- Promote and produce templates for problem solving opportunities with the workforce
- Lead and participate in CI projects
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of New Product Introduction processes and other Quality tools such as APQP, FMEA and 8D
- Understanding of ISO9001
- Competent in Project Management and Lean techniques
- Ideally with a Degree in a relevant subject such as engineering or manufacturing
