Our client, a provider of cold storage supply chain infrastructure with over 240 facilities globally, is looking for an HSEQ Specialist to join their team in Whitchurch. This is a permanent role requiring onsite presence, where you will ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) standards and regulations. You will oversee and manage EHS issues and activities to meet legal and company EHS standards, contributing to the improvement of related processes on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety systems, including BRC, ISO14001, FSC, and ISCC
  • Lead BRC, ISO, environmental and customer audits
  • Manage and maintain systems, ensuring adherence to requirements and leading cross-functional teams
  • Implement processes and procedures to improve food safety, health and safety, environmental systems, and hygiene
  • Act as the site lead for food safety, GMP, environmental, and health & safety improvements
  • Complete customer questionnaires and handle customer enquiries
  • Form and lead a HACCP team, overseeing system review and compliance
  • Collaborate with the site to ensure audit compliance and implement QESH improvement initiatives
  • Investigate complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures
  • Maintain all site accreditations and certifications
  • Coordinate EHS activities across departments and support EHS management systems
  • Ensure relevant staff training in EHS areas such as manual handling and fire safety
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Degree-level education in Food Sciences or equivalent, with proven experience as a technical specialist in a high-turnover food or FMCG environment
  • Previous experience in a similar role of safety and quality with expert knowledge
  • Experience as a food safety certification auditor
  • Documentation of maintaining food safety certification
  • Experience in the food industry
  • Ability to deliver presentations to large groups confidently
  • Experience in interdepartmental reporting with site general managers
