Sales engineer (office-based) with a good understanding of engineering to be the point of contact for new and existing customers required for a well established company whichdesigns and manufactures specialist packaging machines.
This is a new role to ensure all inbound sales enquiries are understood and handled effectively. The salary is up for negotiation and uncapped commission can be added as well as an annual bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Key contact for business enquiries, dealing with emails and telephone calls.
- Select and send out appropriate sales literature in response to enquiries
- Organise (and occasionally lead) product demonstrations
- Attend Trade shows
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Sales Manager.
- Future development within the role will be to identify new business opportunities through existing accounts.
Essential skills and experience required:
- An aptitude for mechanical/electrical engineering
- Bright and engaging personality
- Comfortable talking on the phone and meeting with customers
- Demonstrable experience of handling inbound telephone enquiries, preferably within an engineering organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to use judgement, problem solving skills and initiative to provide information and support and to recognise where issues may need to be referred onwards to be addressed by the Sales Manager
- High standard of IT literacy including MS Office
