They are looking for an experienced IT Manager to support 4 international manufacturing plants.Job Summary:Key Responsibilities:
  • Take control of day-to-day running of the IT department. Control of installations and maintenance of current IT systems and the network infrastructure. Plan future requirements.
  • Take full responsibility for Installation and maintenance of Windows core datacentre 2019 servers, Build and operate virtual servers in a Hyper-V environment.  Maintain a hybrid environment between on premise servers and Microsoft Azure. 
  • Have the ability to give strategical technical input into the companies future plans and direction utilising technology as a key enabler.
  • Capable of challenging the status quo to ensure a continual upgrade path to best practice is achieved. 
  • Maintain and operate Fortigate firewalls and VPN connections between other sites worldwide.
  • Maintain backups utilising Veeam and Datto.
  • Install, update and maintain the Company’s ERP, T & A, Financial and accounting software.
  • Maintain the Wi-Fi environment across all sites.
  • Manage the internal network using layer 3 switches.
  • Support internal web servers and intranet.
  • Manage and configure Office 365 functionality including teams voice
  • Maintain the contracts for Mobile and desktop phones.
  • Setup and maintain SQL databases as required.
  • Provide support and advice to inter-site users as and when required.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring best value and service
Experience / skills
  • Supervisory/management experience within an IT support environment. Be able to lead, direct, supervise, train and develop the support team.
  • Technical skills should include but not be limited to: Microsoft Azure setup and management, Firewall setup and management, Knowledge of layer 2 and 3 switch configuration, SQL Database management.
  • IT in a manufacturing environment is desirable although not essential, as is experience of ERP systems.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring best value and service.
Specialist training required:No specialist training requirements, although postholder must demonstrate a willingness to be involved in training regarding any new developments, as appropriate. Any particular aptitude/skill required:  
  • This role demands a highly pro-active approach in what continues to be a changing and dynamic environment.
  • This ICT manager will get his/her hands dirty regularly in servicing internal clients and their systems.
  • Postholder will show a desire to be involved in new developments as they affect IT and associated parts of the business.
  • The postholder must be able to demonstrate the ability to 'hold their own' with managers and supervisors from other parts of the business, whilst demonstrating the ability to get on with all levels of users.
  • Ability to maintain a confidential service to other managers.
