Personnel Selection are pleased to be working alongside a fantastic manufacturing business in Whitchurch, Hampshire. Our client has a vacancy for a Materials Compliance Coordinator, which is being offered on a part time and permanent basis. The role requires you to be office based for 20 hours per week, but our client is flexible on how these hours are set.

The ideal person comes from a technical/engineering background and has an understanding of compliance and possesses excellent attention to detail. 

Primary functions - Administrative:•Liaise with customers to ensure their requests regarding material compliance declarations & documents are fully understood and met in a timely manner.•Survey suppliers to ensure their products’ materials and substance lists are complete and up to date, and conform to regulatory requirements, such as REACH, RoHS, CMRT.•Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, Design & Document Control departments within the business to ensure Banned and Reportable Substances (BARS) conformity is met and maintained for both legacy and new products.•Generate Material Declaration documents in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Secondary functions - Continuous Improvement•Maintain the databases (MS Excel, SharePoint) provided for storing and reporting BARS data.•Highlight areas in need of improvement in BARS processes and system functionality and, if opportunity arises, implement changes with the assistance of the BARS mentor.

Specific qualifications are not mandatory for this role, but the candidate should be computer literate and numerate as well as being well versed in the use of MS Excel and comfortable using SharePoint.An understanding of materials and regulatory restrictions of their use (e.g. REACH & RoHS) would be useful, but not necessary.
