Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mathematics education to students aged 14-19, fostering their academic growth and preparing them for future careers in engineering and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging mathematics lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure all students make progress.
  • Assess, record, and report on students' progress and achievements, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the mathematics curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and integrate mathematics into broader engineering and technology projects.
  • Support students' academic and personal development through mentoring and additional support sessions as needed.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events that enhance the student experience at UTC Heathrow.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and discipline, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to support students' educational progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience of teaching mathematics at the secondary level, preferably including experience with Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience in teaching mathematics within a technology or engineering-focused curriculum.
  • Familiarity with vocational qualifications and assessment methods.
