The Role

Job Summary

  • A 2-Shift based electrician who will safely execute planned, preventative, and reactive engineering tasks in a timely manner. Compliance to all legal and local policies & guidance relating to engineering and maintenance. Working proactively as part of an engineering team to ensure maximum machine efficiency (reduce downtime and set-up time).

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safe execution of planned, preventative, and reactive engineering tasks in a timely manner.
  • Compliance to all legal and local policies & guidance relating to maintenance and machine setting.
  • Working proactively as part of an engineering team to ensure maximum machine efficiency (reduce downtime and set-up time)
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and a clean as you go policy.
  • Setting and calibration of machine tooling ready for production in a safe and timely manner.
  • Liaising with production operators to find root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Being the first point of contact for all machinery break downs on your assigned shift.
  • Supporting the engineering management in building an engineering team and related process fit for future challenges.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations and current edition of the Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience of Electrical fault finding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Your job title does not limit your duties and the Company may require you from time to time to undertake any other duties within your capability.

Other Requirements

  • Suitable electrical qualifications
  • Experience of operating in a commercial/industrial environment.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Time served Electrician with the ability to read Electrical Schematics and Specifications
  • Electrical experience gained in an Industrial environment.
  • Level 3 BTEC or Diploma or equivalent qualifications
  • Effective communication with operations and management and a can-do attitude.
  • Working Safely.

Desirable

  • Electrical Panel and circuit design.  Control panel wiring.  Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Advanced trouble shooting including PLC’s and VSD’s
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Decision making.
