The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the main purpose of the role is to determine, drive and lead the implementation of the HSE strategy, focusing on safe behaviours and attitudes at all levels throughout the business. The successful candidate will influence, coach and support business leaders and their teams to support the development of safety leadership.

Successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Must be holder of a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Policies/Procedures/ Regulations – ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working with environmental management systems and engaging with the teams of people needed to drive improvement. (ISO 14001)
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing culture and/or behavioral change in a complex organisation.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders to build effective relationships with internal customers and other external contacts.
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to manage own workload and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written including one to one and group meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to problem solve through to root cause.
  • High degree of personal resilience.
  • Good general IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and other in-house system.
