Youth Support Worker -SEN Schools

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? Do you have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team, working in SEN schools in Whitehaven. This role involves supporting SEN students of various age groups, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development, and collaborating closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN, both one-to-one and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and adapting activities to meet individual student needs
  • Promoting a positive learning environment and encouraging student engagement
  • Supporting students' emotional well-being and helping to build their confidence and independence
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary
  • Ensuring the safety, welfare, and inclusion of all students
  • Supervising students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities

  • Pay Rate:£85 - £98 per day

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN (preferred)
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check for working in childcare (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full and up-to-date CV
