Our Client has a requirement for two roles: Primary Design Engineer and Secondary Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Stafford, UK.
Role Purpose:
- To lead engineering design activities on 132kV – 400kV projects.
- To collaborate with project teams while ensuring adherence to safety and engineering standards.
Job Role Responsibilities:
Primary Design Engineer:
- Participate in safety reviews.
- Produce and review primary layouts.
- Verify structure designs.
- Interface with internal and external suppliers.
Secondary Design Engineer:
- Produce single line diagrams (SLD) and key line diagrams (KLD).
- Verify protection and control (P&C) schemes from suppliers.
- Collaborate within the project team to ensure design integrity.
- Verify designs provided by back office teams.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of National Grid specifications.
- Experience in High Voltage (HV) substation design.
- Familiarity with GE, Siemens, and Hitachi protection relays; knowledge of TP141 is a bonus.
- HVDC experience is preferred.
