Description
- The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing contract management, management of cost consulting services, budgeting, and forecasting, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- The position manages supply chain processes and supports the successful delivery of capital projects ensuring value for money.
- The Commercial Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities for cost-saving, new revenue streams, and investment decisions, contributing to strategic business planning and overall project success.
- Managing contracts following JCT (Joint Contracts Tribunal) and NEC (New Engineering Contract) standards.
- This role involves supporting the implementation of the NHS Net Zero standard into capital projects.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Partner closely with capital design and delivery teams to provide supply chain support and ensure seamless integration of project requirements.
Profile
- Either Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or working towards), or Chartered Institute of Building (or working towards) or another relevant professional qualification.
- Degree qualified in related discipline such as construction management, finance, quantity surveying or construction cost management.
- Good working knowledge of NEC and JCT suite of contracts and associated
- Specialist knowledge of capital project commercial management arrangements and ability to act as a main source of expertise in this area.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational and presentation skills
- Effective time management
- Ability to motivate staff at different levels within the organisation and to develop collaborative working across the organisation
- Ability to think laterally and innovatively and generate and implement ideas
- Enthusiastic and committed to getting the best out of staff, encouraging development and innovation
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others
