KS1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Seaton Delaval
Hours: 8:30am - 1pm
Could you be the special person to fill the vital role as a KS1 Teaching Assistant at a school in Seaton Delaval throughout the summer term? Are you dedicated and enthusiastic about supporting pupils in a positive and inclusive way, to ensure that they are learning and developing to their full potential?
Here's what you’d be doing:
- Assisting the class teacher with setting up and organising the classroom.
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and interventions across the curriculum, with a strong focus on Phonics, Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
- Providing prompts and support to pupils during lessons, including small group and one-to-one, as required.
- Supporting with written and verbal feedback to pupils.
- Providing accurate feedback to the class teacher, maintaining any records as required.
- Managing behaviour in the classroom, and around school, being prepared to challenge where necessary
What you must have:
- The ability to build rapport quickly and have good working relationships with children and adults.
- Good reading, writing and numeracy skills with knowledge of Phonics.
- Flexibility, having the ability to work well under direction, but equally under your own initiative.
- Passion for ensuring that children are happy and fulfilled in school.
- A strong regard for student safety and well-being with a good knowledge of Safeguarding. (Training can be provided.)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (I can help you out with this.)
