Mould Shop Operator

Location: Whitstable

Job Type: Temporary, part-time, 1 day per week

Salary: £11.54ph - £11.94ph

We are seeking a Mould Shop Operator to join our client’s team in Whitstable. The role involves supporting the business with the production of moulded components, ensuring quality and efficiency in line with business processes.

Day-to-day of the Mould Operator role:

  • Mix and mill mould materials according to detailed process instructions, maintaining batch traceability and ensuring the correct mixture of materials.
  • Manually load and set bolsters/tools in machines, verifying the use of correct tooling and condition prior to use.
  • Set machine parameters such as time, temperature, and injection rates to ensure quality moulding.
  • Operate both injection and compression mould machines, including manual loading/unloading of tools and components, and preparation of material slugs.
  • Conduct in-process inspections during production runs to maintain product quality and make necessary adjustments to settings.
  • Carry out post-cure treatment of moulded parts, ensuring correct temperature and times for materials being post-cured.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Mould Operator:

  • Experience in operating mould machines, preferably in injection and compression moulding.
  • Ability to follow detailed process instructions and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Competency in using various tools and equipment for moulding and trimming.
