CNC Setter/Operator
Location: Whitstable
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £26,3000 - £32,000 + 25% shift premium
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our clients Machine Shop team in Whitstable. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from bar stock for our internal assembly flow lines, ensuring the highest quality and timely delivery.
Day to day of the CNC Setter/Operator role:
- Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work efficiently.
- Inspecting work against engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects.
- Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines, maintaining good housekeeping standards, adhering to 5S requirements, and promptly reporting any issues.
- Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus monitoring tool life.
- De-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the CNC Setter/Operator:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade C or above, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of operating CNC machine tools, with experience of CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis.
- Experience in reading and editing Fanuc based programs.
- Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and able to inspect work using a range of measurement equipment.
