Do you have hands-on experience operating CNC Lathes? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a leading East Kent manufacturer with an expanding and successful team? If so, we want to hear from you!

Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in Whitstable, is seeking a skilled CNC Setter to join their team. You will be responsible for operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to produce high-quality components from raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Operation: Operate CNC multi-tasking lathes, ensuring efficient and accurate production of components.
  • Quality Inspection: Use measuring equipment to inspect work produced against engineering drawings, reporting any quality defects to your supervisor.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks, maintain good housekeeping, and report any issues promptly to supervision.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Work to reduce set-up and cycle times while monitoring tool life to ensure optimised production.
  • Final Inspection & Documentation: Complete deburring, cleaning, final inspection, and ensure all traceability documentation is properly filled out.

About You:

  • Qualifications: GCSE level or equivalent with grade C or higher in Maths and English.
  • Experience: Previous experience operating CNC machinery is essential. Experience with Fanuc-based programs is an advantage.
  • Skills: Strong ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings. Able to work independently and within a team, meeting tight deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to good housekeeping and adherence to health and safety standards is crucial for this role.
