Your new companyHays Recruitment are happy to be supporting a Whitstable/Herne Bay-based primary school as they are looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Early Years teaching assistant to support the nursery and reception classes. This is a full-time temporary position starting on 17th January until 18th July 2025.

Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will work alongside the EYFS class teachers to support the reception class Monday to Thursday and nursery class on Fridays. You will offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment by utilising an array of learning equipment and taking a pupil-centred approach to learning by adapting and associating learning materials with pupil interests. You will support your pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis and focus on phonics sessions, assessments and interventions as well as offering interventions and boosters in other core subjects as required. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience as a teaching assistant in the UK, within the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
