Job Title: Plating Operative
Location: Whitstable, Kent
Salary: £12.21 per hour / £23,810 per year
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm & Friday 8.00am - 1.30pm

Role Summary:
To carry out plating and finishing of components to company quality standards within time frames, whilst adhering to company policies and standards.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
- Read and follow all relevant documentation and carry out various plating and finishing processes.
- Strict adherence to company process, manufacturing and Health and Safety instructions and procedures
- Strict adherence to company quality procedures, including product quality and system quality.
- Follow the production plan.
- maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify and carry out the correct method of jigging for a range of parts and/or wiring/barrelling method.
- Follow the correct procedures for safe handling of chemicals within the plating department.
- Use x-ray spectrometer and other quality monitoring equipment to measure plating thickness.
- Carrying out visual inspection on components to adhere to company quality standards.
- Understand and adhere to the department and company Health and Safety rules and procedures.
Experience and skills required for this position:
- Previous experience in plating or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of electroplating and metal finishing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures, particularly regarding chemical handling.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and lift materials as needed.
