Objectives

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our joinery workshop team as a Driver and Workshop Assistant. This role combines driving duties, including transportation of materials and products, with labour responsibilities such as assisting with general workshop tasks and supporting our joinery team.

Key areas of responsibility

Driving Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive company vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and finished products to designated locations
  • Ensure timely delivery and pick-up of items, while maintaining accurate records of deliveries
  • Perform regular vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is maintained in good working condition
  • Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies during transportation

Workshop Responsibilities:

  • Assist with unloading, loading, and organizing materials such as timber, hardware, and tools
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly
  • Assist joiners with manual tasks during the production process as required
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times in the workshop and during deliveries.

Qualifications and Person Specification

  • Valid clean driver’s license
  • Previous experience as a driver or in a manual labour role (preferred)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
