Mechanical Design Engineer

East Kent – must be able to drive due to location.

We’re seeking a Design and Development Engineer to join our well-established client due to expansion!

Key Responsibilities:

Producing full product specifications for manufacturing processes.
Oversee multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met according to the New Product Introduction (NPI) timeline.
Create detailed manufacturing instructions for new products.
Address design and manufacturing challenges early in the product development process.
Work from design briefs to resolve issues and generate detailed drawings for complex or custom designs.
Manage and control design drawings throughout the process.
Stay updated on emerging manufacturing technologies and methods.
Collaborate with both internal teams and external customers during the design phase.
Assist in designing and developing test rigs for product evaluation.
Ensuring products are compliant with all regulations.
Any other duties required.

The successful candidate will have/be:

Proficiency in CAD software and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Educated to BEng level in Engineering or Scientific.
Experience in Design Engineering ideally within the Automotive or Aerospace industry.
Willing to be hands-on, creating products beyond the 3D modelling stage, and into the testing stage to then make alterations where necessary.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with multiple departments.
