Process Engineer (Moulding)
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000
Location: Whitstable, Kent
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00am to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:30pm

Role Purpose:
Support production by developing and improving processes, ensuring quality is built into manufacturing rather than relying solely on final inspections. The Process Engineer will drive process control, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Process Engineer Tasks:
- Provide fast turnaround and corrective action for process and quality issues affecting production.
- Lead APQP activities for new product introductions, including developing and managing Control Plans, FMEA, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Coordinate and prepare PPAP documentation for new products and process changes.
- Prepare and submit ISIRs for new and modified parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Verify new products or updated tools for moulded components are production-ready prior to release.
- Support tool design for new and legacy products, updating designs and drawings as necessary.
- Improve manufacturing processes, update routings, and create process instructions.
- Analyse NRFT (Non-Right First Time) data to identify process improvement areas.
- Take ownership of root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer concerns.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through defect reduction and process optimization.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: HNC/HND or higher qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in process improvement and line flow implementation.
- Experience using measuring equipment and performing design reviews.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong mechanical bias with basic electrical skills.
- Understanding of NPI processes and creating manufacturing documentation.
- Problem-solving expertise, particularly in resolving shop floor issues.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Higher education in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree.
- Familiarity with CREO or similar CAD software.
- Previous experience with injection/compression moulding equipment.
- Knowledge of Amphenol products and connectors.
