We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced hands on Food & Beverage Manager to join our management team at Chestfield Golf Club. As Food & Beverage Manager the main focus of your role will be to oversee and manage all aspects of the food & beverage operation, ensuring that an exceptional 5 star service is delivered at all times.


You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of up to 15 staff, including rota management, recruitment, induction and as well as ongoing training to motivate and develop existing team members. You will take a lead role in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, maintaining and ordering stock, managing supplier relationships and work with the culinary team on concept and menu development for the Restaurant & Bar.



Tasks & Responsibilities:


Responsible for the planning and execution of events both internally and externally

Provide expertise to members and guests in the areas of room setup and capacities, food and beverage arrangements, audio visual needs and all other specifics relevant to the customers needs

For social events, day-of coordination is required, in order to ensure smooth and accurate execution.Meeting with members or guests on evenings and weekends may be required

Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with customer regarding event details

Manage all deposits, follows up with customer post-event, and distributes final invoices

Maintain a good working relationship with local community, vendors and industry partners

Other administration duties, such printing menus, labels and signage

Manage the food and beverage staff including hiring, scheduling and training kitchen, serving, and event staff

Place applicable supply orders and work with the head chef on inventory items needed for upcoming events and day to day kitchen stock

To improve food quality along with bar and restaurant GP


Requirements for the role:


Proven experience in a management capacity in a similar role (such as Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or Restaurant Manager)

Strong leadership and staff management skills with experience of managing teams of 6 or more staff

Personal Licence Holder (desirable)

Full UK Driving Licence

Experience of recruiting and training staff

High standard of personal presentation

Meticulous eye for detail and exceptional planning and organisational skills

Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality

Ability to interact with people at all levels

Passion for delivering exceptional service and able to deal with feedback in a positive and pro-active manner

Ability to multitask and work in a challenging environment

Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem solving

Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend, evening and night time work will be required)


Salary: The salary guide is dependent on skills and experience but commensurate with the position and the overall package will include: 5% pension contribution, meals on duty & 20 days holiday.


Hours: The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the club roster. This will be a flexible, minimum of 40 hours per week including some weekends and bank holidays, throughout the year. Typically, opening hours are 9am to 5pm (earlier or later with events)
