Our well-established client, a leader in housing solutions, is seeking a dedicated Young Person Support Worker to join their team. You will be providing high-quality support and positive outcomes for young individuals in the care service, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and support young people in their transition to adulthood and independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to young people living independently in their own homes.
  • Assist in developing young people’s independent living skills.
  • Promote and encourage positive life choices, including social activities, budgeting, and education.
  • Update and ensure progress is made with care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with social services and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Participate in planning, monitoring, review, and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Ensure all young people and staff are treated fairly and with consideration of their cultural, religious, and physical needs.
  • Provide on-call assistance as required.
  • Address and signpost all safeguarding issues in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Work cohesively with team members to ensure compliant service delivery.

Required Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it within set timeframe.
  • Understanding of The Children’s Act and Children’s Social Care system is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with young people in a care setting.
  • Strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to travel across a geographical area on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Driving License required
