Billing Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Telecoms Billing Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing billing data, ensuring accuracy in billing processes, and providing actionable insights to improve our telecom billing operations. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health of the organization by maintaining precise billing records and resolving any discrepancies efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing Operations:

  • Process and verify telecom billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate and distribute invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and reconcile billing accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of billing activities for management review.
  • Use analytical tools to develop insights into billing performance and customer usage patterns.

Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in collaboration with other departments.
  • Liaise with customers to address and resolve billing inquiries and issues.
  • Provide technical support for billing systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new billing systems and software upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the finance team to support month-end closing activities.
  • Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure alignment and clarity on billing-related matters.
  • Provide training and support to junior billing staff as needed.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a billing analyst role, within the telecom industry.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in working in the telecoms industry with a good understanding of telecoms billing is essential
  • Proficiency in billing software systems.
  • Strong skills in Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Applications
  • Experience of databases and SQL is an advantage
  • Organised and having an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Proactive focus on customer support and delivery
